Respons to Big yellow taxi
When we listened to "Big Yellow taxi" in class the tone would be regret but that dose not reflect on the song because the song is a happy mood which is weird because the song is meant to be happy. "Field bellow's" tone is the same but the song actually delivers the punch of being a sad song. The tone was a little sadder tone and the lyrics were meant to be a sad song.

DBQ
“How free were the blacks in the north?” If you were black how free would you be and how would you live your life? Lives in the North were better but not completely fare for the African Americans. But the South would enslave them and make them work for their own. The African Americans would also be okay at the south because there is food and shelter to keep them safe. But they had masters that did not treat them very well.
There social freedom was little to none and they had to eat in separate rooms so the white people could stay away from them. Blacks were also not allowed to go into theaters and they could not get into public places that white people were normally in. African Americans had the most freedom in New England and had more of a right to choose.
The African Americans freedom under politics was low and only in Massachusetts was the only state that allowed the blacks to run for Jury. Now the African Americans can run for everything that has to deal with politics as long as you were born in the country and have lived here for fifteen years. But some of The African Americans are still treated with little respect. The African Americans could also vote in New England and choose the best candidate.
African Americans Economic freedom they had no freedom in terms of economy. They could not get a job because the white people would not work with them. If they tried to get into the simplest jobs such as a market worker or a merchant. When they did get a job they were treated with little respect and they were given difficult jobs.
So how free were the blacks in the north? If you were a black how would you go about living your life. I think that the blacks were free because of what I said in my statements.

Mother to son
Mother to son
In the poem Mother to Son the metaphor is “life for me ain’t been no crystal stair”. It means that life has been difficult for her and it will not get easier, it’s not perfect. The other metaphors are “And places with no carpet on the floor -- Bare.” This metaphor means if she were to fall there would be no soft landing. Such is life for her nothing to make it easy.
The tone of the poem is advice to be followed, almost a warning that life and success isn’t easy and you must always be climbing/working to achieve your goals. In addition I get the sense that this is a poor black person trying to overcome barriers.

Character development
If you had to change one thing in your life what would you change and how would you change it? In the book the absolutely true diary of a part time Indian that is what the main character junior needs to do if he wants to invest in his future. Or live a better life for his family.
What junior dose is he moves to a new school called reindeer and changes his future and have a better life. One of the problems he has to face is his best friend does not like him anymore because he moved to a different school and that poses a problem because his is tough strong big and fast. Pretty much all the things Junior isn’t. What he should do in this situation is he should just leave his friend alone but he doesn’t he tries to stay friends with him but rowdy knocks him on his butt twice. He should have left him alone and let him cool down a little bit.
Junior is like a character from diary of a wimpy kid Roderick Helffaly he likes to screw around and pick on little kids but he slacks off and dose the bare minimum expected of him and that nags his parents. This is just like junior his family expects a lot from him and realizes it when a teacher tells him “Get off the Rez and get a better life than this one go.” Then he starts to see the bigger picture he needs to move to a different school. But Roderick doesn’t see the bigger picture and becomes a high school dropout.
If you had to change one thing in your life what would you change and how would you change it? I would change the sports I play to hockey basketball and football. But I am glad with my decisions.

Funny peoms
I never put my things away.
I never dust my room.
I never fix the things I break.
I never use a broom.
I never take the garbage out.
I never buy the food.
I never get embarrassed
when a person sees me nude.
I never clean the table tops.
I never scrub the floors.
I never turn the TV off.
I never lock the doors.
I never wash the dinner plates.
I never say a word.
I never knew that life would be
so easy for a bird!
My doggy ate my essay,
he picked up all my mail.
He cleaned my dirty closet
and dusted with his tail.
He straightened out my posters
and swept my wooden floor.
My parents almost fainted when
he fixed my bedroom door.
I did not try to stop him.
He made my windows shine.
My room looked like a palace.
My jackets smelled like pine.
He fluffed up every pillow.
He folded all my clothes.
He even cleaned my fish tank with
a toothbrush and a hose.
I thought it was amazing
to see him use a broom.
I’m glad he ate my essay
on “How to Clean My Room”.

Piont of veiw for junior
Point of view
If you were stereotyped based on you race ethnicity how would you handle that situation you would you fight or tell somebody about it? Well that is how the main character junior fells like he thinks it is better to fight then to tell on somebody. He thinks he should fight because it is against the Indian race to be made a fool and or be made fun of.
It all started when told is former best friend rowdy he was going to move to a different school that had white people in instead of the reservation school he is in now. But when he moved he did not realize how the people would treat the only Indian kid at the school. When junior gets to the new school he realizes that the people treat him like a white person killer. So they call him Custer killer, red skin, and yellow neck.
What junior did do in this situation is he punched the biggest lock that was making fun of him granted he probably could have beat him up but junior bluffed and made it look like he was all tough and the jocks walked away. Then they respected him for standing up for himself I can relate to this because when I was playing football this kid kept making fun of me so the next play I put him on his butt and he never did it again. But if he hadn’t done this they would have continued to make fun of him. Junior would see it as he is making fun of me and I need to punch him in the face. If you make fun of my family, friends, neighbors, or me you are going to get punched in the face no matter how tough that person is he will punch them.
If you were stereotyped based on you race ethnicity how would you handle that situation you would you fight or tell somebody about it? Well I would do what he did and defend myself and tell a teacher or a parent. Because it would not be fair for me.

Character description
Authors note: in the book the absolutely true diary of a life time Indian how would you act if you were like this
Junior would walk into a room with his head down and the world was making fun of him. He would look like the world was making fun of him because he is an Indian and all the white people hate him. The people also are racist to him are either popular or his friends that are mean to him that are not really his friends he just thinks that they are friends. He only has one real friend and that is Rowdy and he beats up every body or punches them.
